Puerto Rico. Millions of reasons to Believe.

MCS Foundation selected entities focused in improving the health of the elderly in the island

In response to an open letter published in February 2019, the MCS Foundation received more than 100 proposals. Of these, it selected around 25, with all of them focused on addressing the social determinants that impact the health of the elderly in Puerto Rico. Of the funds raised for the Puerto Rico. Millions of Reasons to BELIEVE campaign, we allocated $1 million to fund and create awareness for the critical issues surrounding the health of the elderly in Puerto Rico under the slogan: BELIEVE in Our Seniors. Among the selected entities, a special prize of up to $100,000 will be awarded for those projects that have the greatest impact, innovation and sustainability, among other factors. Green for Puerto Rico

The “Green for Puerto Rico” campaign was launched right after the passing of Hurricanes Irma and María to help the island during its recovery phase following these devastating storms. Funds raised under this campaign were matched by MCS. In 2018, because we acknowledge that Puerto Rico still has a long way to go towards its recovery, we confirmed our long-term commitment to Puerto Rico with our new fundraising campaign: “Puerto Rico. A Million Reasons to BELIEVE”.

Our goal is to raise $1 million to go beyond hurricane recovery and extend into projects aimed at a vibrant and healthy Puerto Rico based upon our three pillars: health, education and economic Development. Once again, MCS Healthcare Holdings, LLC, our main partner and contributor, has stepped forward strongly to act on its commitment to be leaders in pushing forward Puerto Rico’s rebuilding efforts, by matching dollar for dollar all contributions made by our donors.
