Roberto Pando serves is the chairman of our Board of Directors. He also serves as president of MCS Advantage, Inc. and MCS Life Insurance Company. Additionally, he leads the operations of both health plans, whose services impact hundreds of thousands of people in Puerto Rico. He also leads local and national efforts toward developing and strengthening policies focused on protecting federally funded healthcare programs on the Island.
Pando—as we all know him—also serves as a member of the board of directors of Banco de Alimentos de Puerto Rico, and treasurer of the Asociación de Compañías de Seguros de Puerto Rico (ACODESE). He also has presided the Medicaid and Medicare Advantage Products Association (MMAPA) for two and a half years, and served in the board of directors of the Business Emergency Operations Center, which served as a private sector representative in emergency management functions.
Pando has a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Michigan, a master’s degree in social planning from the London School of Economics, and a juris doctor from the University of Puerto Rico.
